Helping to Meet the Needs of Others!

In all the world there is not anything more important than a person. How do we know this? What caused the Father to give his Son? Why did Jesus leave heaven? Why are we here today? All these questions lead to a single conclusion: You are important to God and, because of that, you are important to me. So, I share my life and my heart with you.

OUR SPIRITUAL NEEDS MUST BE MET!

Do you ever feel like your days go by like a movie on Fast Forward? When you sit down and try to think about where you’ve been or where you are going, you can’t quite make sense of it all.

The question arises, Why am I here and what is my purpose in life? Answers seem difficult and beyond your grasp. As long as we try to depend on ourselves for the answers we will find nothing of comfort and no lasting peace.

As he examined his dismal situation, the Prodigal began to wake up and then realized he had made one of life’s most fatal mistakes. He had left the most important things out of his life. He had even walked away from his father’s love and protection. He really thought he could make it on his own, but he ended up in a pen full of pigs. How messed up can you get (Luke 15:11-18)?

The Prodigal originally left the love and protection of his father’s farm because he thought that kind of living was unacceptable to him, but it led him into slavery. His latter condition was much worse than he could have ever thought it could be living at home with his family.

That’s exactly what happens to most of us when we seek to fulfill our desires and needs by our own schemes. There is a statement in the Bible that continues to prove itself to be true every day we live: it is not for man to direct his own steps (Jer. 10:23).

Each of us needs a little help along the way. The Prodigal was seeking all the good things in life. He wanted acceptance and he tried to buy it with money and things. He wanted prosperity and he squandered every penny he had on worthless living. He wanted freedom and all he ended up with was bad results—bondage in a pig pen.

Are you tired of trying to make it on your own? There are those right here in your community who want to help you. This family of Christians attempts to work and worship God in an atmosphere where each and every person can be encouraged and spiritual needs can be met. We seek to provide this environment free from cultural distinctions. We seek to have the love and unity God wants for each of us. So, you can see there are answers. Get your life out of Fast Forward! You really can’t put your life on Rewind because you cannot go all the way back and make a new start by yourself. But, the Good News is that God can give you a new start today through Jesus Christ. So why don’t you hit the Play button and get down to some serious living. You see, anyone can start from now and make a brand new conclusion.

There’s some more Good News! God can provide the peace, the purpose, and the fulfillment you have been looking for and perhaps seeking in all the wrong places.

There are people who are available right now to help you. Call us or write to us for spiritual help. Better yet, come visit us!

TELL ME WHAT'S RIGHT!

Someone said it quite well, Don’t tell me what’s wrong; tell me what’s right. Don’t you just love optimistic thinking? Of course, there are no specifics here. We don’t even know what the person was talking about. But, couldn’t it fit just about any situation?

Family life would be a perfect fit. Now, there’s rarely a single one of us that doesn’t have some situation in our family that’s less than perfect. . .tell me what’s right! What about the good relationships we share, the fun we’ve had and still have? What about the plans we’ve made and the good, wholesome time spent together?

Community life would be another perfect fit. More has been closed down here than is still running—in the tire testing and gas world anyway. 100’s have moved from here looking for a better job or to retire. It’s less than perfect but. . .tell me what’s right! It’s all coming back. We are optimistic. New businesses! New people! But, also. it’s Our Town! Our friends are here. People we serve with are here. People support people and you’ve never seen a town come together better in a crisis situation. And, we’ve had quite a few. This is Our Town--just about the best bunch of folks you’ve ever run across.

Church life would be another perfect fit. We have shrunk, primarily due to what was said above—about Our Town! You don’t have to get here early to get a front seat. Religion has been on the downturn in our area. . .but tell me what’s right! There’s always hope. There are those who still love the Lord and want to make a difference. We would love to have quick fix answers but they are not available. But there are those ready to work to change the situation because God is forever changing people. Movers & Shakers, no, we don’t have that many, but with His help; we will overcome. We would love to have you share all that with us. Won’t you come be with us?

Let me tell you what’s always right: He loves you and we do too. Don’t ever for get that. That’s what’s right! (Jno. 3:16).
